1. Auditing and Reviews:
Conduct audits, reviews, and certain compilation engagements for various small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Analyze financial statements including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and other reports.
Ensure compliance with Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Prepare detailed audit reports and provide recommendations to clients for improvement.
2. Tax Preparation:
Prepare and review corporate income tax (DT/CT) returns, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations.
Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
Collaborate with the personal tax returns team for a seamless tax season operation.
3. Mentorship:
Mentor and provide guidance to interns and junior staff on auditing and tax-related tasks.
Review and ensure accuracy of work performed by junior staff, offering constructive feedback.
4. Collaboration:
Work in close collaboration with other departments, including personal tax, advisory, and legal teams, to ensure clients receive comprehensive service.
Maintain strong client relationships, acting as their primary point of contact for inquiries and issues.
Job Requirement- CPA Designation: Hold a CPA auditor accounting designation.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in an accounting firm, with a focus on audit and tax.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
- Knowledge of CaseWare, IFIRM, QuickBooks, and SAGE software (an advantage).
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial concepts such as DT/CT, Balance Sheet,
- Income Statement, accrued costs, prepaid expenses, asset disposal, and bank reconciliations.
- Solid understanding of accrual versus cash accounting concepts.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in either French and English is essential.
- Work Ethic: A rigorous approach to work, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
